Description:The Carpenter Museum is a local history museum located in Rehoboth, Massachusetts. It is run by the Rehoboth Antiquarian Society, which was incorporated in 1884 for the purpose of collecting and preserving "all objects of Antiquarian interest, including books, pamphlets, manuscripts and whatever may serve to illustrate the history of this ancient town. Initially housed in Goff Memorial Hall (link), the collection was moved to its current location when the museum was constructed in 1978. Named after its chief benefactors, Elsie and E. Winsor Carpenter, the museum presently houses over 4000 artifacts relating to the history of Rehoboth and the families that lived here.
